Serving Turkey's industrial heartland from Kocaeli
We are a corporate web design agency with a single office in İzmit, Kocaeli, working across the province and the Anatolian side of İstanbul. Most organisations that commission a website here manufacture, or supply manufacturing — and that changes the scope: multilingual product data, technical document access, supplier evaluation and dealer structures all land inside the same project.
Why is a corporate web project in Kocaeli managed differently?
Because most companies that commission one here manufacture or supply manufacturing. For them a website is not a brochure; it is a supplier-shortlisting tool. Scope therefore does not end at corporate presentation: product and capacity data, technical document access, a multilingual structure and dealer architecture all enter the same contract.
A region's digital requirement is set by the work that earns money in it. Kocaeli is a province in the eastern Marmara region of Türkiye, wrapped around the Gulf of İzmit — an inlet of the Sea of Marmara — and bordering İstanbul province to the west. Its economy rests on manufacturing and logistics: organised industrial zones sit on both shores of the gulf, alongside port facilities and specialised industrial estates. What a company here expects from a website is not what a retailer or a service business expects.
In practice this shows up in the first meeting. Instead of a marketing manager you sit opposite the general manager, the production manager, the quality lead and the export manager. Each wants something different from the site, and none of them asks for it to look more modern. The requests are concrete: our products do not come up in search, our English version is half-finished, the buyer cannot find the technical document, our dealers build their own pages and the brand drifts.
None of these is a design request. They are information architecture and visibility requests. How the page looks matters, but so does how the information on it is declared to a machine. That is where our scope differs from the regional norm: the team that builds the site is also accountable for whether it can be found.
Where is Kocaeli, and why does that matter to an international buyer?
Kocaeli is the industrial province immediately east of İstanbul, built around the Gulf of İzmit. Its Gebze district borders İstanbul province and is the eastern terminus of the Marmaray commuter rail line; the Osmangazi Bridge crosses the gulf from Dilovası. Ports, refineries and organised industrial zones line both shores, which is why a large share of Türkiye's exporting manufacturers sit here.
For a buyer sourcing from Türkiye, that geography is practical information rather than trivia. A supplier in Gebze or Çayırova is on the İstanbul side of the province, close to the metropolitan area and its logistics network. A supplier in Körfez, Derince or Dilovası is next to the port facilities on the gulf, which matters for bulk and heavy cargo. The nearest major international airport to the province is İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen, on the Anatolian side of İstanbul — the same area we serve for client meetings.
An organised industrial zone (OIZ; organize sanayi bölgesi, abbreviated OSB in Turkish) is a designated, serviced industrial estate with shared infrastructure and a zone management body. Kocaeli contains several, including GOSB in Gebze and TOSB — the automotive supplier industry specialised zone — in Şekerpınar, Çayırova. If your counterpart names one of these zones in an address, they are describing a location inside this province.
We publish this because it belongs on the page a foreign buyer actually reads. If you are evaluating Turkish suppliers rather than agencies, the questions worth asking are set out on our export industry solutions page.
What question does a buyer bring to a supplier's website here?
The visitor to a Kocaeli manufacturer's website is usually a procurement specialist, a project engineer or an export officer. The question is not "who is this company" but "can this company do this job, and who do I write to". If the answer is not visible in the first minute, they move to the next supplier on the list.
Inside a single organised industrial zone there are often many companies doing comparable work, so physical proximity stops being a differentiator. What separates them, from the buyer's side, is whose technical data is findable and verifiable. If capacity figures, material and tolerance ranges, certificate records and a document archive exist as text on the site, the company enters the evaluation. If the same information is locked inside one PDF catalogue, the company is absent from that search.
We have written up what this means per segment on separate pages: manufacturing and factories, export industry and franchise and dealer networks.
How do local search and supplier search differ in this region?
They are different intents and they need different pages. Local search is location-bound: the user looks for a nearby business and reads map results. Supplier search is location-independent: the buyer searches by product, standard or capacity, and in both search results and AI assistants picks the page that carries the technical answer.
A manufacturer in Kocaeli needs both, but not in equal weight. Local visibility is built with a business profile listing, a consistent NAP record and a location page; think of it as the answer to "who, and where". Supplier visibility is built with a content architecture organised by product, application and technical question; that is the answer to "what does it do, and what is the evidence".
For a manufacturer the second is the real lever. A local pack can decide the outcome for a service business, but a procurement specialist in Germany does not look for the nearest flange manufacturer. So a regional page is not a strategy on its own — the location signal is a layer placed on top of a product and document architecture.
Being cited by answer engines and AI assistants is a separate discipline; we cover it on our AEO and GEO service pages, and define the terms in the digital visibility glossary.
How do field conditions change technical decisions?
A user in an industrial zone rarely opens your site at a desk. They open it inside the plant, on the shop floor or on the road, over a mobile network. Under those conditions heavy image galleries, embedded maps and third-party scripts make a page unusable. Performance is therefore an acceptance criterion, not a styling preference.
200 ms
The "good" threshold Google publishes for Interaction to Next Paint (INP). If a catalogue filter, a document search or a quotation form responds more slowly than this, the site is effectively frozen for a buyer working from a mobile connection.

We measure these thresholds on every page we deliver and hand over the measurement with the report. What the metrics mean is explained in the Core Web Vitals guide; how we fix them at the root is on the performance engineering service page.
Which districts and industrial zones of Kocaeli do we serve?
Our office is in İzmit and we serve the whole of Kocaeli: Gebze, Darıca, Çayırova, Dilovası, Körfez, Derince, İzmit, Kartepe, Başiskele and Gölcük, together with the organised industrial zones in those districts. The Anatolian side of İstanbul is also an area we serve; we have no branch office there.
The list below summarises the industrial profile of each district as it affects a digital project. It is not regional advertising: which district you operate in largely determines which information blocks your site has to carry, and getting that right at the scoping stage is cheaper than discovering it at launch.
-
İzmitOffice · provincial centre
The administrative and commercial centre of the province, where public institutions, the university and the service sector concentrate, with industrial facilities along the gulf shore. Our office is here and most face-to-face meetings happen in İzmit.
-
GebzeSpecialised OIZ · R&D
One of the densest industrial districts in the province: Gebze Organised Industrial Zone (GOSB), research institutions and specialised industrial estates sit here. It borders İstanbul province and is the eastern terminus of the Marmaray line. The need we see most often is a multilingual technical catalogue and a document structure ready for OEM supplier evaluation.
-
ÇayırovaAutomotive supplier industry
TOSB — the TAYSAD automotive supplier industry specialised organised industrial zone, in Şekerpınar — makes this one of the centres of the automotive supply chain. Here a website has to work as a source that feeds the OEM customer's supplier approval file.
-
DilovasıHeavy industry · port
Chemicals, machinery and metals dominate the specialised industrial zones here, interlocked with port facilities. The northern end of the Osmangazi Bridge is in this district. The recurring requirement: safety data sheets and certificate records published in a searchable form rather than as downloads.
-
KörfezPetrochemicals · logistics
Refinery and petrochemical facilities and port logistics concentrate on this stretch of the gulf. For the supplier companies around them, the digital priority is describing service scope and field competence in measurable terms rather than adjectives.
-
DerincePort · storage
A port and storage district on the northern shore of the gulf. For logistics and foreign trade companies here, a genuinely multilingual structure and an unambiguous statement of service scope decide whether an enquiry arrives.
-
GölcükShipyards · automotive
Shipbuilding and automotive main industry on the southern shore of the gulf. Supplier companies here usually need a technical document archive and English product pages before anything else.
-
BaşiskeleManufacturing · coastal industry
A growing manufacturing and coastal industrial area on the southern shore. Newly established plants usually build a site from scratch, which is an opportunity to get the information architecture right from the first day.
-
KartepeKöseköy · logistics
Industrial and logistics areas around Köseköy, with strong rail connections. For storage and distribution companies, structuring location and capacity data is what turns the site into a usable procurement source.
-
DarıcaSME · trade
One of the districts closest to the İstanbul border, dense with small and medium manufacturers and trading companies. At this scale a single corporate site is often enough, but structuring product data still decides whether it is found.
-
Kandıra, KaramürselFood · agriculture · tourism
Food, agriculture and coastal tourism districts. The requirements that come up here are product traceability, content that satisfies food regulation, and local visibility organised around seasonal demand.
The Anatolian side of İstanbul is an area we serve, not a branch. We work with organisations in Kartal, Pendik, Tuzla, Ümraniye and the surrounding districts, and we travel there for meetings. But we have no office in İstanbul, and this page carries no İstanbul address, no İstanbul telephone number and no phrase such as "İstanbul office".
The same rule applies inside Kocaeli. We have no separate office in Gebze, Dilovası or Körfez. Our only address is in İzmit, and the structured data on this page (LocalBusiness) declares that one address. Publishing a location page for a district where you have no office misleads the buyer and the search engine at the same time; we do not build that structure for clients either.
How multi-location structures should be built instead is set out on the dealer and branch network management page: original content for locations that exist, and no page for locations that do not.
How do on-site meetings and plant visits actually work?
In Kocaeli and on the Anatolian side of İstanbul we run the discovery meeting, content and asset gathering, and the handover with training on site. Interim presentations and revision rounds are run remotely. Which stage happens where is written into the project plan before the contract is signed, so no surprise visit request appears later.
The hardest part of a corporate industrial website is not the design; it is getting the correct technical content out of the company. That content does not sit in a marketing folder. It is scattered across the production manager's head, the quality lead's files, the export team's email archive and, usually, an out-of-date PDF catalogue. The fastest way to collect it is to sit at the same table.
-
01
Discovery meeting — on site
A single session with the decision-makers in one room. The goal is to settle the scope and the measurement criteria: which buyer, in which language, with which information blocks.
-
02
Plant visit and asset gathering — on site
The stage we recommend for every manufacturer. The machine park, the product families, the certificate files and the document archive are seen in person. Technical copy written without seeing them falls apart at the buyer's first question.
-
03
Production and interim reviews — remote
The design system, page templates and content production run remotely. Interim reviews happen over screen share, and each review includes the performance and accessibility measurements taken up to that point.
-
04
Handover, transfer and training — on site
After launch, the source code, the accounts and content management are transferred. We train the team that will update the content face to face, and a written manual plus the training record are handed over with it.
The deliverable list, acceptance criteria and division of responsibility for each stage are written out on the how we work page. For projects outside Kocaeli the only thing that changes in that table is the number of stages run on site — and that number is agreed before the contract.
Which service combination should a manufacturer in the region start with?
The order is fixed: publishing architecture and product data first, visibility second. The corporate website, structured data and performance are taken together; SEO, AEO and GEO are layered on top. For export-weighted companies the multilingual structure moves into phase one, and companies with a dealer network add location architecture.
| Service | What it means here | Phase |
|---|---|---|
| Corporate website | Product family architecture, capacity and certificate pages, document archive, multilingual skeleton | Phase 1 · foundation |
| Structured data | Making the company identity, the single office address and the product records machine-readable | Phase 1 · foundation |
| Core Web Vitals | Catalogue and document pages that still open on a mobile network inside a plant or on the road | Phase 1 · foundation |
| Enterprise SEO | Content clusters by product group and application; multilingual structure and hreflang where export is a target | Phase 2 · visibility |
| AEO | Procurement and engineering questions written answer-first, plus selection-criteria pages | Phase 2 · visibility |
| GEO | Being nameable in AI assistants as a supplier in this region; entity and source signals | Phase 2 · visibility |
| Dealer and branch network | Original page architecture for real locations, NAP consistency, business profile management | Phase 2 · if a network exists |
| Mobile app | Dealer ordering, field service and production tracking scenarios — only where a defined process exists | Phase 3 · conditional |
| B2B commerce | Account-based pricing, order approval flow, dealer portal — only where the sales model supports it | Phase 3 · conditional |
| Brand identity | Brand architecture and a design token system — where there is a rebrand or more than one product brand | Phase 0 · conditional |
This table is a prioritisation proposal, not a package: the services can be bought separately. If your existing site can be improved without a rewrite, we narrow phase one according to the audit result. The full scope matrix sits on the services page, and the segment view on the solutions page.
We prefer to decide which combination fits you by measurement rather than assumption. The free digital asset audit produces the measured state of your current site across five axes, and we base the prioritisation on that report.

We do not put opening hours, parking arrangements or a postcode on this page. None of them is verified information for us, and publishing an unverified detail — on the page and in structured data at once — risks sending a visitor on a wasted journey. The most reliable way to fix an appointment is the telephone number or the email address above.
We apply the same principle in the markup: the openingHours, geo and priceRange fields are left out because they are not verified. The reasoning behind that rule is set out on the why Baki Bilisim page, and the measurements we do publish are on the proof page.
What do companies in Kocaeli ask most often?
Do you work outside Kocaeli?
Yes. Our office is in İzmit, but the area we serve covers the whole of Kocaeli province and the Anatolian side of İstanbul, and we run corporate projects in other Turkish provinces remotely. The difference is the frequency of on-site meetings: in Kocaeli and on the Anatolian side of İstanbul we treat face-to-face meetings as standard, while for more distant provinces the number of on-site visits is written into the project plan from the start. We have no branch outside Kocaeli and we do not imply that we have one.
Where is your office and how do I get there?
Our address is Karabaş Mah. Salim Dervişoğlu Cad., Ncity AVM, Floor 2 (Bowlingo floor), İzmit / Kocaeli. Ncity AVM is in central İzmit on Salim Dervişoğlu Caddesi and the office is on the second floor. The directions link on this page opens a map only when you click it. Meetings are by appointment: call +90 507 817 27 17 or write to bilgi@bakibilisim.com. We do not publish opening hours, parking arrangements or a postcode, because we have not verified them.
How do you work with companies in Gebze, GOSB and TOSB?
The same way as in İzmit. We come to the plant for the discovery meeting and the content-gathering stage and see the production line, the product families and the document archive in person. In specialised zones such as GOSB in Gebze and TOSB in Çayırova we additionally read the supplier evaluation form used by the OEM customer, and we derive the information items the website has to satisfy from that form. Interim reviews and revision rounds can be run remotely.
Do you hold on-site meetings?
Yes. In Kocaeli and on the Anatolian side of İstanbul we run the discovery meeting, content and asset gathering, and the handover with content-management training on site. We particularly recommend the plant visit for manufacturers: technical copy cannot be written correctly without seeing the machine park, the product families and the technical document archive. Interim presentations and revision rounds are run remotely, and the project plan states which stage happens where before the contract is signed.
What is the advantage of working with a local agency?
The advantage is content accuracy, not price or proximity. The hardest part of a corporate industrial website is not the design; it is extracting correct technical content from the company, and that requires sitting at the same table as the production manager, the quality manager and the export team. A team in the same province can arrange those sessions in days rather than weeks. Beyond that, being local provides no technical advantage and we do not claim one.
How are you different from agencies in İstanbul?
The difference is the boundary of responsibility, not geography. The team that builds the site is also accountable for whether it can be found in search engines and AI assistants: structured data, Core Web Vitals thresholds, hreflang setup and WCAG accessibility sit inside the same contract. Where the work is split between a marketing agency and a software agency, those items usually end up owned by nobody. We write this as measurable acceptance criteria rather than as a claim.
Do you work with buyers and head offices outside Türkiye?
Yes. We deliver in Turkish and English, correspond in English and hold reviews by video for counterparts abroad. The most common arrangement is a Turkish manufacturer whose export customer, group head office or OEM client sits outside Türkiye: the site is built in İzmit, the English structure is written for the international buyer, and reviews run remotely. Contract terms, invoicing and the currency of the agreement are agreed before the project starts. We publish no price list, because scope determines price.
General questions about pricing, contract length and out-of-scope work are answered on the frequently asked questions page. For the accountable name and the structure behind the work, see about Baki Bilisim.

The audit is free and creates no obligation to work with us. The report itemises findings on AEO answerability, AI crawler access, lab-measured Core Web Vitals, structured data validity and accessibility (automated scan). In Kocaeli and on the Anatolian side of İstanbul we present it in person.
